My husband and I booked a room for two nights in a mansion wing over February School Break. We were excited to return to Ocean Edge having had several happy stays over the years. We were put in a room right next to the elevators - not a big deal. We came home from a day out to find about 8 young boys playing knee hockey in the hall. Again, not a big deal - I teach elementary school and understand kids have energy. However, three hours later they were still playing, screaming and running up and down the halls. Their parents did nothing to control the activity. We were trying to nap. We called the front desk and were told they couldn't make people stay in their rooms and that it was a hockey tournament group and February break. We said that wasn't our problem and we wanted some quiet time. They offered to put us in a suite in another part of the hotel but hockey families were there as well. We decided to stay put. Again in the evening there was a good amount of noise and activity until close to midnight.

Checking out the next morning the front desk apologized for the noise saying they tried to spread the group around to keep the noise down. Really? So other guests have to be surrounded by youth hockey teams with no quiet options? Very poor management decision. The hockey group should have all been put in one section of the hotel to allow other guests the experience they paid for. I understand it was February break. It was my vacation week, too. The hotel took $75 off our bill and said they hope our next stay will be better. I told them although we love the property, we will never return. ALL guests need to be considered when planning room assignments and Ocean Edge failed miserably.
