Started attending here +12 yrs ago long before it became the mega-church it is today, and I volunteered for many years. However, as much as I like Andy, the staff and the people I've come to the realization that it's more a "feel good" church than anything else.

In 12 yrs I've never heard Andy speak and take a firm stand on some of the major social issues of the day. For instance, I've never heard him speak about gay marriage, abortion, etc. Andy skirts these issues completely and never takes a stance on what the bible actually says about these things. Instead, Andy tries not to offend anyone.

I think Northpoint is popular to many, especially the young, because Andy tells people what they want to hear and makes them feel good. Back when I first started here in my 20's I knew a lot of people that would go out, party hard the night before and go listen to Andy because he didn't condemn their actions. Instead, he just told them a feel good story and for 1 hour a week they were "Christian". I believe most people go to Northpoint because the message they get is exactly what they want to hear rather than what's the truth.

Don't get me wrong... Andy does a great deal of good work for the local communities and the people of this world; however, he appears to be more worried about offending someone rather than speaking the truth on many issues of the day.
