As a frequent visitor to NYC my 5-day stay at The Manhattan was absolutely perfect. Sure it's a bit older, but most hotels in NYC are old. My room was clean and VERY quiet, had a decent view, had a window that opened nicely to let the street sounds in when I wanted, and it was SURPRISINGLY SPACIOUS! In the past I've paid twice as much for half the space. The only thing I found I needed was a mini-fridge. But that's a minor issue since a cheap collapsible ice cooler (which I always pack) does the trick. (Addendum: I have since learned from their web site that mini-fridges are available for $25 PER STAY, which is a good deal since I usually stay for a week. I would definitely have taken advantage of this had I known.) The service - from the desk to the maid to the concierge - was friendly, fast, and professional. But what really makes this hotel stand out is LOCATION! It's an easy walk to Central Park, Times Square, theaters, museums, dive bars, etc. Will definitely stay here again!
