Henry Moore s former home, studios and gardens, make for a wonderful day out. We celebrated my birthday here on a gloriously sunny day, with a yummy picnic next to the "Square Form With Cut" concrete sculpture.
There are many large sculptures dotted around the gardens and sheep field and you are allowed to touch the outdoor sculptures, but be warned, the bronzes can get very hot!
Staff were lovely, friendly and very knowledgeable about all things Henry Moore. Do check out all the studios, including the Bourne Maquette Studio which displays Moore's original mini models and the 16th century Aisled Barn which is home to Moore's stunning tapestries. (You have to look up close to see the weave and appreciate the beauty; from a distance, you could easily mistake the artworks as charcoal and watercolour.)
I love this location and will visit again.
