Set an appointment up with hunter to come and look...

Set an appointment up with hunter to come and look at a truck hours ahead of time. Got there on time for my appointment and hunter decided that the other customers coming into the store a few mins before us should take priority over a set appointment. No big deal as they had another saleswoman on hand eager to help. Took the truck for a test drive and then found out that the internet price is not the price they actually sell the vehicle for. You have to finance with them and have a trade in to get that price. Also not a big deal as I spoke with a manager and he said they d honor the internet pricing. (After about an hour of them trying to value my old beat up truck and countless times denying financial aid from them). Now it s been a few hours in the store and it s getting late especially after driving 2 hours one way to get to said store. They show us to the waiting room and inform us that the next person to come and get us will be the financial department to get the last bit of paperwork finished. After about 30 mins a lady comes and gets us and asks a million questions making small talk as she types away only to give us a progressive quote. I was very irritated at this. We had just wasted a whole hour for a very unwanted insurance quote while the financial guy was waiting for us. Went through the final paperwork and then they tell us that even though they spoke with my bank and everything was good I could not take the truck home that night since my bank was now closed. So another few days and 6 hours of driving later I now have my truck and made a nice $4,000 down payment at my bank when I set the loan up. Now normally all this would be just minor inconveniences not worth bringing up but trust me it all goes down hill from here.

Now skip forward 2 months to the point my 60 day tag is about to expire but I still don t have a title. A quick call to Kia and they let me know they didn t collect some of the sales tax and that I ll have to pay another $906 over the phone before they send me the title. So I figured why not mistakes happen and paid with a credit card over the phone. Now can you imagine my shock when I opened the letter from Kia a few days later to see a receipt for $2,906 and a title from Texas! Yeah it was a big shock. Especially since I had less then a week to schedule an inspection from highway patrol and a trip to the courthouse. Normally a days worth of errands but with switching careers and still being on probation taking a day off was impossible.

Now time to call Kia and speak with a manager. Spoke with one about the problem and he told me this is confusing me let me look into it and find out what happened and I ll call you back . 2 days passed with no call so I called again and got ahold of mark. He was just as confused as I was that they didn t collect any sales tax. Again I was told to expect a call back. He actually did call back that evening and said they would happily reimburse me for the inspection fee from the highway patrol and that he still needed to find out why sales tax wasn t collected. Another couple of days passed with no response so I called again. Got a 3rd guy this time that had no idea on what was going on so had to explain it all over again. I was told that they would yet again call me back. Well they didn t and I have called and left messages but yet they refuse to reach out.

Edit: after posting this I was bombarded with responses from Kia. From both Chris and mark. Best they could offer was to give me a refund for the truck for $4,964.88 less then what I bought it for. Very far from satisfactory customer service.
