Gorgeous hotel on the Chaophraya riverfront, making it very convenient for first timers to explore Bangkok s major touristic sites by boat (there is a free boat shuttle to the main terminal and how to proceed from there is well explained at the concierge desk, which was over and over again so helpful in arranging tours or simply giving advices!), or even by taxi, since they lie close enough.
Room on the very corner of the building was comfortable with a spacious living room, and three huge windows allowing expansive views over the city and the holy touristy trinity of Grand Palace/Wat Pho/Wat Arun. Breathtaking from the first until the last minute we spent in the room, modern in decoration and updated in terms of technology.
It s also very convenient for those wanting to take a river cruise, since all boats leave from the pier right across the river, and only a 5 THB ride away from the hotel.
Breakfast was good enough, in a beautiful, airy, most spacious room, full of natural light in the morning and lovely views of the riverfront, with seatings both out and indoors, plenty of choice between Western and Eastern cuisines though the juices were canned and really horrible tasting.
The pool, though offering stunning views and very photogenic, is rather small and shallow, best suited for children.
Gorgeous Icon Siam mall is next doors though one has to actually face the broken pavement and noise and pollution and heat to get there walking, even if less than 200 meters. There is a construction on the road, making traffic pretty worse than it already generally is in Bangkok but when a Sky Train station opens near this hotel, it shall become one of the best accommodation options in Bangkok!
