The Denver Zoo is really great. There are a lot of fun shows all through the day, and the zoo staff are very conscientious about explaining the conservation efforts for each animal and what part the zoo plays in them.

The new, 10-acre elephant enclosure is pretty spectacular.

We especially enjoyed the elephant show, the sea lion show, the primate area, and the reptile house. I also really appreciated that we could bring in a picnic lunch and eat it anywhere on the grounds.

My only complaint would be the price of adult tickets ($20!), and the fact that children older than 11 are considered "adults". Kids under 3 get in free though, so that's something.
