Compared to Palm Beach Gardens, the whole atmosphere is great. People are welcoming, floors at clean, bathrooms are clean, the cafeteria is clean (and has a wide variety of food from salad, chicken tenders, Boar's Head Subs, to handmade food from the grill that the Chefs make made to order) and they have a Greenery (so that you don't have to be staring at walls 24/7).
The Doctors, ICU nurses and the case manager that were assigned to my dad are amazing, but there is 1 female nurse and 2 male Doctors that went too far. Because of those three, this hospital could easily be 5/5 stars, but sadly they ruined it.
This is going to a very 'light" review. Without all the curse words my sister said to the 2 Doctors and Nurse. Keeping names off record from the review.
----
At the time of writing this, my dad was in ICU for a good 40'ish days.
An older lady, that always wears a white coat says to my mom "Someone in your family called us and talked about hospice care." No one that is supposed to be on the list for the hospital to contact talked to them. Friday, Doctor #1 was talked to.
Sunday, Doctor #2 comes in and says; "You should think about giving him morphine." Literally, the only thing hurting him is his butt sores from the other hospital and you want to send him to a place where they're job is to lower your rate and let you die slowly? My sister pulls the Doctor to the side and lets him know the conversation is going to be recorded. She says; "It's fine that you would like to give up on my dad, but he doesn't want to give up and we don't want to give up. If you want to give up than we'll transfer him to another hospital." The Doctor goes on saying, "No no no, we're here for him it was just a miscommunication" and insert more junk. A few days later my dad's vitals are amazing and the Doctor #2 comes in and says, "You're doing great job" and my sister says, "Yeah, you wanted to give up on him." He said a snarky comment and my sister replied, "Really? You wanted to give him morphine" and he just shut up.
What if we weren't there? What if my dad didn't have a POA? They were literally going to give my dad morphine. These Doctors see a person in a bed for 30+ days and think they won't recover so they just give up on them.
No idea how this nurse and these two Doctors got into this field, but yeah, they almost took a healthy man to the grave.
Besides those three people. The rest of the nurses and Doctors have amazing bedside manners.
A few weeks later with help from physical therapy that comes to the house, my dad is walking and eating normally. Who knew that if he didn't fight through this, a Nurse and 2 Doctors could have easily taken his life.
