Jake Mangum Review of Wackerli Auto Center

Very poor experience. After an initial consult a couple of months ago we were told to come back and leave the car for 4 hours to replace the middle DVD screen. We made an appointment and took the vehicle back in. After 6 hours we had heard nothing so we called. We were told that they had the computer hooked up to the car and were diagnosing. Really, after 6 hours they were diagnosing? There was nothing to diagnose. The screen did not operate. Pretty simple. When I asked if they had been working on it the entire time they said yes. If that is true then the service department must be incompetent. It would take all of 5 minutes to see the screen did not work. I was told they still were not sure why the DVD player was not working. I had to explain that the DVD player was fine. It was just the center screen that needed to be replaced. Six hours and they still didn't even know that the DVD player worked? Pretty obvious they were not working on it the entire time. If so, they should be embarrassed. They told me they would finish diagnosing and that we would need to bring it back another day to get it fixed. Seriously?! We thought that was what they were doing. The point of the appointment was to replace the screen. I went to pick it up and had to pay $53 for the wonderful diagnosis that 'my center screen needed to be replaced'. No kidding?! That is what we already knew and thought the appointment was for. We were also told it would cost $850. I called the Chevy dealer in town (Smith Chevrolet) and asked them the cost to replace. They told me $550 and set the appointment two days from my call. I will never visit Wackerli again or recommend. Horrible service, and did nothing to make it right. Just lied and still had the gall to charge me for diagnosing what I already knew. Pathetic. I have never left an online review on Google or any other site, but the fact the service was so poor, that they still charged me a diagnosis fee for telling me what I already knew, and that they were going to charge me 55% more than Smith Chevrolet for the new screen made me feel like I would appreciate a warning if I were considering service at Wackerli. If you have a Chevy or GMC save time, money, and headache and visit Smith Chevrolet.
