Initial impression of Hickory Park furniture was pleasant. The sales consultant was very helpful. However, after they got their first payment things started to go downhill. A few days after the order had been placed they informed me one of the pieces had been discontinued. Due to the delay in telling me, I could no longer order from the second furniture store I was purchasing from, as their furniture had already arrived, and I didn't want to be out the extra fee for an additional delivery.

It took 2 months to get our delivery, only to have it include a broken piece and a bed where the headboard and foot board didn't match. It took an additional two months to get these pieces replaced. The delivery fee was quite expensive and they refused to refund any of it.

However the worst part was their lack of professionalism. They were very quick to blame the delivery company (hired by them) and the manufacturer. But took no responsibility for the delays themselves.

We are happy with our furniture, but the delays of delivery and blame game played were simply unacceptable.

Update: After writing this review I was contacted by both a VP and an owner of Hickory Park apologizing for the customer service and refunding half of our delivery fee. Perhaps we were just unlucky with our experience.
