Sun Peaks is a wonderful place to hike and see the wildflowers during the summer. The Sunburst chair lift opens at 10:00am and takes you up to an elevation of 1850m. (You can buy a lift pass online). From here, we first took trail 9 to Tod Lake which is a beautiful lunch spot with a view of a small lake. Trail 9 has some elevation mixed with flat parts and views of wildflower meadows. We then did trail 11 and 12 which goes around Mount Tod summit. This is the best trail for wildflowers, every corner gives an even better view than before. It was astounding. Trail 11 and 12 are marked as advanced but it felt accessible if you want some distance and are wearing light trail shoes. On the way down we did trail 10 to 5 then 2. It can get very windy here and a jacket or sweater is helpful. This path is better going down than up. You lose elevation fast and hiking poles would be helpful for your knees. I definitely recommend a visit!
