This has been my favorite place to stay the past 4 years. Every year we rent a hotel room, and bring our boat. This year we brought some extended family and rented one of the villas on VRBO. The condo was amazing, but the staff were not. We were told we would not be able to use some of the amenities (What that actually means is, none of the amenities). They have a gate guard now for some reason, and she was completely rude to us. We had to find somewhere else to store our boat and trailer. Luckily, the great people at Grassy Key Marina helped us. Keep in mind they had 3 rented slips out of probably 100 and 3 trailers in their trailer lot and would not rent us the space. Even one of their staffers told us, they were in a legal dispute, with the people who rent out their villas. I have spent no less than 10k at their resort and was treated like dog sh**. It doesn t have the fishing oasis feel that I once loved. Maybe we caught them on a bad week, or maybe this is just what this place is becoming. They won t see another red cent from me. We will take our business to The Reef. Seriously disappointed with the place that I loved.
