Had incredible pains from Stomach Flu, couldn't defecate or vomit. I didn't really have any lasting opinion about anyone except this X-Ray Tech "Kevin". He was SO comforting and nice, and was really what I needed. The nurses, im sorry, they are emotionally distant. I was shivering like crazy and I asked for a blanket and it never came. When I got my x-ray, The X ray tech gave me one after I mentioned it. They did give me something for the pain (which was incredible) so that was very helpful. Usually Dr's are terrified to give anyone pain medicine, its kind of pathetic. So despite the lack of empathy or sympathy, the rest of the staff performed perfunctorily.

Honestly I wish people who worked at taking care of people in pain were more empathetic or sympathetic. Overwhelmingly, these people act as though their job is so much suffering and its too much effort to affect any kind of genuine care.

Overwhelmingly women exhibit this strange lack of concern a lot more. I'm not misogynist but this is definitely a phenomenon. I've been in and out of hospitals for 10 years--- The female staff is ALWAYS standoffish and skeptical. And there is no excuse for not getting someone a blanket that is convulsing with chills---- How obtuse can you be?

Please, someone tell Kevin how helpful he was. People like that should be running the place. Just a little small talk did me an incredible amount of healing. Thanks.
