It was with profound disappointment that I was able to follow the events in the Faroe Islands tonight. Islands that are certainly not part of the European territory but are under the protectorate of Denmark, Denmark which is part of Europe.
However, European law clearly condemns and prohibits the killing of protected species and whaling, a massacre that Denmark has clearly endorsed and actively supported tonight.
I am European and as a European, I am outraged that some of the subsidies / aid or other cash payments, directly or indirectly, benefit the Faroe Islands which persist in a barbaric, unjustified * and illegal tradition in Europe, and that with the support of a European country.
No European country is exonerated from complying with or choosing among the laws set by the EU. How ironic that this evening, it is precisely by his forces of the order that Denmark has chosen to support this massacre of another age.
Tonight several activists from the Sea Shepherd group have been arrested for, it seems, the mere fact of being present. What are the charges that Denmark has against these European citizens? What crimes did they commit to justify these arrests? I hope that Denmark will be able to clarify its position in this affair and will not make the affront to say that these arrests were intended only to protect the activists against possible overflowing (we have all seen the frenzy in which blood puts hunters in the Faroe Islands); if so, why handcuff them?
With this opinion I wished to express my disappointment in Denmark, to engage my position and the fact that I would support any action to enforce the European laws and denounce the irrational and inhuman massacres.
I look forward to the official position of Denmark in this case and in Europe, as well as the follow-up that your country intends to give to the arrest of the Sea Sheperd members.
Regards,

* No, to slaughter violently a protected species to feast on its pulpit (pulpit recognized as unfit for human consumption by its high rate of mercury) and this at a time and in a place where everyone has food to eat, does not do not justify!
