I do not know how to describe this. My friend s dad s friend works on the Curiosity Rover, and two summers ago I got a behind the scenes tour of the facility. I saw the new rover being built, the Curiosity and Opportunity control stations (REMEMBER, this is 2018). The only thing I would wish I had seen was the Mars Yard, which is where the test the rivers and other equipment. If you can get a behind the scenes tour, please do yourself a favor and do so!
