Two years ago I bought $32,000 worth of furniture to furnish my small house. I chose Cherry House because of its reputation for quality.
My 2 $300 lamps both had to be repaired. One month ago my Sam Moore recliner became stuck in a reclined position. I called my sales designer Jan & she suggested I call Billie in Service. Since I was having surgery in a month it was important to get it fixed soon.
I had to call Billie twice & she finally sent someone out. The service man said he thought it was the switch but he would research it & get back to us. That did not happen. I called Billie again & she said she was waiting for us to call her back on whether we wanted her to order a new switch. We were not asked to call back. We weren't told what was wrong. We were charged $63.00 for a switch that did not come in so we ended up canceling the order.
Meanwhile I had been in contact with Jan. I suggested that since the chair was only 2 years old and the fact that I had purchased such a large amount of furniture would they consider giving me a discount on a new recliner & take away the broken. I was told that she could not ask for a discount as the furniture was already discounted at 40% and they never take back broken furniture.
Both she and Billie suggested that I come out and purchase a new chair.
I was under the impression that Cherry House sold only high quality furniture and backed their merchandise.
They were certainly happy to take my $32,000 and I wouldn't have expected a Sam Moore recliner that cost $700 to break after 2 years of normal use, nor $350 lamps to malfunction in 1 1/2 years. I expected that Cherry House would back their furniture & provide repair service.
Since I needed my chair in time for surgery this Friday & I received no service from Cherry I purchased a recliner from another store that gave me 10% off & provided a 5 year warranty.
I would never consider purchasing anything from zcherry House again.
