Visited in 2011. The tiger temple began when a cub, orphaned by poachers, was brought to this temple. Others were brought in, tigers grew and mated so the number of tigers grew. This has become a place of protection for the tigers. They are currently building a large area for the tigers to frolic. For an extra 1,000 baht I went into a cage with cubs and got to hold one less than 4 weeks old. I spoke with a volunteer there from Japan. Stories of abuse are not true.
