We moved my Mom here in May of this year. It s an attractive facility- clean appearing and nicely appointed. Mom loves her bright corner apartment, for which we are grateful, but there are s number of concerns that make our personal experience less than ideal and the costs for care add up quickly. After 2 months of having the staff order and administer meds, we realized she was not getting all her meds on schedule. Prescriptions needing refills were sometimes ordered but not received when needed. She was being charged nearly $900 per month and not getting all her meds. So, we reassumed providing that care. There are a number of communication issues. Calls made to posted numbers are not answered in a timely fashion. There is not a nurse available overnight. The front receptionist desk is staffed inconsistently - never on weekends, and front door access to guests is difficult on weekends, when many people visit, due to a doorbell that rarely works, is sometimes simply labeled with a hand written sign, out of order and no way to get in except to wait for a resident or staff member to take notice and let you in. Participation in planned events is quite low- not necessarily the fault of the staff or management but it is discouraging for Mom to attend a movie with only two others. Individual staff members are kind. There just seems to be an overall lack of cohesive management and attention to details that make a big difference. Facility has potential but systems and oversight need improvement.
