Where to begin? Well, it s no wonder that both the state of Delaware and the federal govt. is investigating this center. I ve had the terrible misfortune of being treated in this facility for the 3rd time since the age of 21 for what even their own psychiatrists cannot agree on as my diagnoses. [Side note: my primary language is not English and my family had to answer for me at my first admission while Dr. Dick's (no, that's not a Freudian slip but it may as well be!) only basis for admitting me was because I could not spell the word "world" backwards...which is a trick question akin to a police officer asking a suspected drunk driver to spell the alphabet backwards and waiting for him/her to slip and say "I couldn't do that even if I were sober."]

My prognoses have varied from depression to bipolar disorder and everything in between. A simple nervous breakdown or 'panic attack' wouldn t suffice as the center needs patients, especially ones with expensive insurance that will pay thousands of dollars for their staff and doctors to experiment on defenseless subjects. From intake to release this place will give you PTSD: the intake coordinator blatantly lied on the intake form, the 'transfer notes' are incorrect, and discharge was not permitted until the patient had exhausted his/her insurance payments and had the pleasure of being personally escorted by a burly orderly down to the center's payments desk to ensure that any remaining balance gets to him/her. I actually prayed that the copious amounts of unnecessary medications would induce a heart attack (and a portable EKG was, in fact, brought in and a septal infarct later diagnosed by my cardiologist) so that at least an investigation into my death would be undertaken but I was unfortunate enough to survive this hell-hole. Insider info: the middle unit is referred to as the "staging unit" so that a patient who has not previously visited the facility cannot tell patients, doctors, and staff apart.

The ONLY decent human beings in this facility are Dr. Desi and Alex Dunn. The center uses outdated practices which fall below the standard of care, duress and false imprisonment to force patients into treatment, and is, in general, filthy. If you're thinking of seeking treatment either for yourself or for a family member, PLEASE look elsewhere as there have been numerous whistle-blower suits filed by former employees against the center itself as well as the parent company alleging abuse and mistreatment of patients. Unfortunately, since former patients are, by default, not considered reliable witnesses it's extremely difficult for survivors to file a grievance or obtain any sort of relief. I therefore urge former patients and staff who have first-hand knowledge of mistreatment to please step forward and lodge a complaint with the Delaware Board of Medical Licensure and Discipline and/or seek recourse through a personal injury attorney on behalf of themselves and/or a class of victims.

John McKenna, CEO: I promised to leave you a good review if I was satisfied with your service but I m not so I hope that you get hit where it hurts, financially, once the extent of the abuses and your shady practices get discovered. Dr. Germosen: next time you threaten me or another patient with civil commitment you better have LEGAL grounds to stand on.
