My husband and I bought our first investment property in 2017 in Temecula, California. We decided we would not manage the home ourselves and began interviewing the top rated property management companies in the area. We were less than impressed with most of them but there was one that we did like and that was California Realty Group. We felt they were straight forward and they could be trusted. However, my husband decided we should try to do it ourselves after we found out that we could not get as much for the home as we thought we could. I disagreed but deferred to him. We put a sign in the front yard and got some calls. We decided to accept one couple and signed a lease. After 1 month the tenants stopped paying the rent and we paniced. I told my husband to call California Realty Group. Kristin told us what we had experienced is not uncommon when you are overpriced and relying on yard signs to market the rental. She told us that there are people who purposely drive around looking for people doing it themselves. They agree to pay too much because all they want to do is get in. Kristin was sympathetic and offered to help us get out of this problem. We asked her how much she would charge and she said nothing until the property was generating rents and then the standard fees would apply. Kristin referred us to the attorney she uses and both California Realty and the lawyer helped us to get rid of them. It took us over 3 months and cost us a small fortune in lost rents, attorney fees and court costs. We now are using California Realty Group and could not be happier. We have a good tenant and are receiving rent each month. We are very pleased with California Realty. Everything is done well and professionally. I know they have been in business a long time and it shows. They know what they are doing and seem to really care about their clients. I was so impressed and grateful that they did all this work to help us and did not ask for any money. Truly remarkable in this day and age. If you need property management, this is the company you want to use.
