Had a question about whether I needed a visa to Canada as an American, for my specific situation.

They said they couldn't help, and gave me a paper with links to websites I'd already visited (and couldn't find an answer from). The "help" phone #s are for a for-profit company that only handles visa applications -- not for helping people understand whether they needed one in the first place.
