On our initial visit to Honda Universe, we dealt with Michelle. She was very knowledge, professional, and low key. She is the first sales consultant at any of the many dealerships we visited to not only show us the comfort and techy features of the car, but also the features under the hood. We enjoyed our initial test drive, and as we narrowed our search, I called her to set up an appointment on a Saturday for an extended test drive. We showed up that Saturday about 10 minutes early for our appointment. Michelle readied the car and went to get us a dealer plate. Apparently, all of the 7 plates were gone on test drives.

She apologized and brought her manager, Glenn, over to speak with us. Rather than smooth over this snafu, he made the situation worse. He barely introduced himself, and sat down and stated that all the plates were out and we couldn't go on ANY test drive. I stated I was surprised that all the plates were gone because I called on Wednesday to set up the appointment. Glenn gruffly explained that it's a Saturday, and that they are very busy on Saturdays, and that's why all the plates were gone. I explained I knew we would be coming in on a busy day and that's why I set up the appointment. Glenn then responded by saying that they are a busy dealership on a Saturday, and they may make 20 appointments, but only two show up, so they don't hold the plates for the appointments.

Glenn then started rapid fire questioning, starting with the ever popular, "Well, are you making a deal today or what?" Continuing with what else I looked at, when am i going to buy a car, etc, etc. His questioning demeanor was very short and abrupt. When I said to him that I felt that he was being very agressive, he looked at me and barked, "Agressive? I'm just asking you questions!" He then got annoyed and said, "So, what? You're going to test drive a bunch of cars and decide in 3 months if you are going to buy one? Do me a favor, test drive the rest, rule them out and then come in to test drive and we'll make a deal."

Michelle then interjected that she could call us later if a plate came in. From 1:30pm when we left to 6:00pm when they closed, no one called us.

We will not return to Honda Universe. Glenn treated us like the dealership was already too busy and then did not care to sell us a car unless we already knew we would buy it. He was abrupt, unprofessional, and rude. If this is how the management feels is ok to treat it's customers before you buy a car there, I shutter to think what customer service is like afterward.

My advice: DO NOT GO TO HONDA UNIVERSE unless you feel like being demeaned by the management for wanting a second test drive on a vehicle you were once excited about.
