My experience here was mostly bad. I was bakeracted after my miscarriage and the night staff were some of the most terrifying people I have ever met and I m shocked they have their licenses still. I m a travel nurse and understand the ropes of nursing. I witnessed a nurse pushing a patient away from the nurses station. (What happened to hands off facility? Thats abuse.) The night CNAs instigated fights with the patients yelling at them, calling them crazy, threatening to take their food away, refusing to check a blood pressure of someone feeling unwell, etc. it was traumatizing to see how some of these nurses and CNAs behaved. Treating people like roadkill. I stayed quiet and just observed. The day CNAs and nurse were heaven sent. They opened up a room for me to grieve and not be agitated. They checked on me often and sat with me when I needed them. There was one specifically from the children s unit who came and talked with me for quite some time. Gosh I wish I remembered her name, but I will remember her face and spirit forever. She truly gave me hope and courage to fight my depression. Her along with nurse Amanda, and those day time CNAs who sought me out and talked me through the worst of it, I will cherish you all forever and use it as a reminder of compassion in my work. I can t thank you enough.
