Incompetent Resources at Multiple Levels - My ordeal lasted 4+ weeks when BMO InvestorLine incorrectly calculated my RRIF withholding taxes. I called to correct it and they did on my RRIF account but also performed a Withholding Tax Cancellation within my non-RRSP account that DEBITED the amount of tax initially withdrawn a second time. Even though this was a non-sensible transaction (taxes go to/from your account to Revenue Canada, so reversals should not even involve your non-RRSP account, let alone take more money out of it in a Cancellation/Correction!), no one I dealt with on multiple fronts and even manager (escalated) levels could understand that. Worse still, is they denied any problem for several weeks. Yet worse, is they started not taking my follow-up calls and returning calls much later than promised.

Long story short, It was 4+ weeks until BMO InvestorLine finally admitted to their error. No meaningful explanation of why they erred; why they were so delayed in refunding my money; how they can make sure it doesn't happen again; nor any compensation offered for all of the hours of my time wasted on following up and re-explaining the same error to all the BMO InvestorLine support, manager resources they made me talk to over the 4+ weeks.

I would not recommend BMO InvestorLine service, their ability to handle escalations, nor their care to clients issues -especially when BMO InvestorLine was in error in the first place.
