UPDATE!!! I walked in the house after work today ...

UPDATE!!! I walked in the house after work today and there was a package from Ashley Furniture. They mailed the Care Kit after all! AND there was a personal note from Will! Thank you very much for your kindness and for restoring my belief that Ashley is the best place in Anchorage to buy furniture! Thank you again!

My husband and I purchased a new sofa from Ashley that we love. Will our sales rep was wonderful and he made sure that our experience was a great one. The sofa was in stock, so they were able to deliver it quickly. The gentlemen that brought the sofa were nice, quick and very professional. However, included in the price of the sofa and an exorbitant delivery fee was a "free" Care Kit for Leather. It was supposed to be delivered with the sofa, but was not. I do not live in Anchorage but happened to be there one afternoon and I ran in to the store to pick it up. They did not have it, but told me I could drive across town to their warehouse and pick it up there. Really? I was on my way home and couldn't just drop everything and go across town to pick up something that should have been delivered with the sofa. I asked the sales rep at the store to just have it mailed to us. She said, that would be fine and I left. A couple of days later we were called and notified that they would not mail us the kit but that we could pick it up at the warehouse in Anchorage. Again, I don't live in Anchorage. We're talking a 2-hour plus drive to pick up something again, that I shouldn't have to pick up anyway! And something they could easily put in a box and mail to me. It felt like, "okay, we have their money - end of customer service!" Love the sofa, but I am not at all happy with the customer service and the way this has all been handled.
