My last real estate deal became really complicated when the title co.(Artesian Title) discovered my new house was built partly on the neighbor's property. I only discovered this because the lawyer(Robert Patterson) personally called me well before the closing for a "check in" to talk about things such as surveys which I knew nothing about, which now I am really thankful they did. I figured all houses had to be cleared by the government before people are allowed to close. Apparently not. Suffice it to say, I did pay for a survey but when it came back the surveyor and attorney both called me to tell me the house was not all on the land. This enabled me to get my earnest money back and avoid a closing disaster. We just closed on a different property and this is a shout out and thank you to Artesian Title for a job well done! You will see me again!
