It is with great regret and pain I write this peace. I am a retired Banker , I have enroled myself for the short term course in Sanskrit. Only recently we were issued an identity card . I entered the library today to have a glance at the library and I was allowed inside the library . I found a book interesting and started flipping the pages. It was at this time an employee of the library approached me and asked me to leave the library saying that the library was not meant for certificate courses. I was sitting among some students and had to leave the library humiliated, it was the first time in my life of 60 years that I had faced such a situation. if short term courses are not allowed then why was I allowed in the first place. Decorum demands a different approach of allowing for the day and asking not to come from the next day. I had met the asst librarian Mr Tukaram to clarify, who insisted that it was the Regitrar's order and was their at the entrance. What a fall of social values that a senior person is hounded out as a thief quoting technicalities. I thought libraries were dissimators of knowledge. After all these institutions are maintained out of tax payer's money like me. If at all any order exists that libraries are not open to short time courses it is clear that people are working according to their whims and fancies.
