I have lived at Asbury Methodist Village for 11 years and have loved it. When the COVID hit, a lot of the activities were shut down but AMV has done a great job providing alternative opportunities. When people ask me how I am doing, I can honestly say "I haven't been better." The Asbury TV station taped all the fitness classes. I take the 10:00 am classes every week day in my living room and can now do movements I've not been able to do for years. For example, I can now strand up from a chair 15 times without using my arms. Our Yoga teacher has made two videos that are broadcast Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons on AVTV. I do not miss those because taking Yoga eliminated the lower back pain I endured since 1963!
I have the meal plan and after the Dining Rooms were closed in March, we were given daily menus and our meals were delivered to our apartments each evening. The food has been tasty and quite varied. I've been able to make healthy choices and have reached my 1966 Weight Watchers goal weight for the first time in about 20 years!
From my 10th floor windows, I have a beautiful view over the tops of the trees shading Gaithersburg and Rockville. The weather is always interesting to watch.
