Kela Foster Review of Las Colinas Medical Center
I truly wish that I could give this facility less ...
I truly wish that I could give this facility less than 1 star. I meant to post sooner especially since my hand is still hurt, but life happens. Saturday 5/16/15 while moving some things in my apartment I turned too quickly and hit my hand against a bookshelf really hard. After a short while it started to swell and the pain increased. My roommate took me to the closest E.R. which was Las Colinas Medical. I knew this was going to be a nightmare of a trip to the E.R. when the triage nurse looked at me standing in front of the window (while I'm holding my left hand under an ice pack) and says "You have to check-in at the kiosk" and he walked away from the window. I checked in and waited. He called me back to check vitals and get medical history. He barely spoke a word other than to ask me what happened and ask the routine questions. . After he finished vitals he says "there are no open beds so you'll have to go to the waiting room" before I could stand up the PA walks in and says "what happened" I explain once again and in spite of the fact that Im holding my left swollen hand on the ice pack she says "which hand is it?" I look at her and say clearly this one. She bends over and starts to poke the massive lump on my hand and says "we'll get you to x-ray so we can get you out of here" . I go to the waiting room and whisper to my roommate that the triage nurse and the PA are both the rudest people I've ever encountered. So skip ahead I have x-rays done and go back to the waiting done. I get called to register and the registration clerk is clueless and keeps losing my debit and insurance card that are right in front of her on top of not being able to spell anything she typed in apparently. The jackhole triage nurse comes over and tells her to take me to a fast track room. She does. I sit there for less than 10 minutes and the triage nurse says were taking you to a room. I get to the room and Im there for approximately 20-30 minutes with no contact from anyone and the PA walks in and says "you have a contusion, i'll prescribe you some ibuprofen and get you out of here" I will never go back to this facility again. Everyone was rude and it seemed their only object was get people out of here. Because I don't have any faith in the assessment I was given Im going to my Primary to spend more money thanks to this poor excuse for a hospital.
