I really wanted to do business with this dealership, its location is convenient, but had a horrible experience here this weekend.

I've been in the market for a Tacoma TRD Pro since earlier this year. I had an appointment to drive one (a 2020 model) there in Feb. but cancelled and put plans on hold due to the pandemic.

Fast forward to Nov., I see that a 2021 model has arrived, I arrange to come in and see it, I assumed drive it, ultimately buy it.

Met with Troy, very nice guy, takes all my info, grabs the keys and we go to the truck. He lets me start it and play with the radio but we can't drive it, we have to go talk to the sales manager, here is where it gets interesting.

Sales manager (Ricky?), epitomizes the negative car buying experience. Very blunt, seems rushed and uninterested in creating a positive interaction. I'm pretty much told that because I don't have a trade and I finance through my Credit Union, I'm not bringing anything of value to the table. I'm told that I really can't drive it because they don't want to rack up miles, though I can drive it in the parking lot, or I can drive another model (very different from the truck I came to see). It was also suggested that I was there for "joy riding", yes just what I want to do on my day off, go to dealerships and "joy ride". The kicker was that if I agreed to buy it, then they would let me drive it. Not sure but that seems a little backwards and I really wanted my wife to see it before I pulled the trigger.

Newsflash guys, its a Tacoma not a Maybach, yeah it was the only one there, but still, you lost a slam-dunk sale and a customer. I would have respected them saying this was promised to someone already and they would call me when another arrived, but not how this was handled. Overall a negative experience, take that for what its worth. I will buy a Tacoma TRD Pro, just not from them and I'll drive it first.
