I have very mixed feelings about this shelter if I would ve written a review about my first visit it would have been 5 stars but sadly my next visit wasn t as enjoyable we had called the 311 about a specific cat to see if it was still available and the original guy said no but was very vague and wouldn t explain so we ended the call I then became very confused about whether she had been adopted or been moved from the shelter considering she s 12 and had been there for several months so I called back an another guy had answered and said the only way to find out is if you put in a service request which would take 3-4 business days to get a call back I felt that was a little ridiculous considering we just wanted to give this sweet cat a home. We then went online and It says she was available so we went down there we made it down at about 3 mind you they close at 7 we went in and spotted her we texted the number to get in line to consult someone that took almost and hour to get our meeting and then we got to visit with her then had to be put in another line just to adopt her this took almost 45 more minutes just to be told that they needed to check with the vets before we could adopt her but they had gone home it was around 5 y all are open for 2 more hours and your telling me ALL the vets went HOME? And she said we could simply come back tomorrow and check? If she wasn t ready why would she be up for adoption? Luckily when we showed up the next day after another 40 minute drive down in south Austin traffic they said she was ready it took about 40 minutes to get everything sorted so we could take her home just for them to last minute not be sure if she was spayed even though all of her papers said she was? Ridiculous I m just glad we got her.
