Halloweekends. Let's start at the beginning. I was upset before I even got into the park. I paid for my tickets and parking online weeks ago. I arrived 30 minutes after opening and the parking lot was so full that even though I had spent $30 on preferred parking weeks prior, my parking wasn't honored, I was shooed away and told that the lot was full. It took 15 minutes just to drive through the parking lot to get to the preferred parking lot at the front, only to be told once I got there to turn back around and go park at the back of the parking lot which just took me 15 minutes to drive through. And I had to go to guest services to get my money for parking refunded before I made it into the park. Upon making my way into the park (after losing approximately an hour of my day trying to park and get my money back) the lines were unlike anything I have ever seen. Even the lines for food were as long as the normal lines for the rides. I waited in line for over an hour to ride the Corkscrew. I waited in line for 20 minutes to get a cheeseburger. The whole day was get out of line to get back into a line, which is to be expected, but these were abnormally long lines. 3+ hours wait to ride the Millennium Force. If you can't afford fast passes, if you don't have the patience, if you think you want to go and ride everything in one day, rethink your vacation plans. If you can go and have a good time in spite of the crowds, the pricing, the literal endless waiting, (even for the bathrooms), I say go for it. Cedar Point has gone down hill recently and they're poorly managing the spike in crowd sizes due to the special pricing they have on season passes right now. I love the rides, they have some of the best roller coasters you could hope to ride, but I would suggest pick one ride that you really want to ride and if you get to ride it, consider that a successful Cedar Point trip. Set the bar low and enjoy the coasters.
