Justin Thibodeaux Review of Budiroe's Restaurant

The location of the restaurant is very nice if you want to dine on the Riverwalk in San Antonio. The restaurant stays relatively busy and is a popular location for special dining outs, with locals and tourists alike. I went there with my girlfriend and it did not take us long to be seated. We opted to dine inside as dining outdoors on the Riverwalk has a tendency to invite our local pigeons and rodents. The wait staff is attentive and the price is in line with what you would expect to pay at a tourist eatery (which is pricey). I ordered the Cajun blackened steak and my girlfriend ordered enchiladas. Where we were seated allowed me a direct view into the kitchen. I witnessed employees that were not chefs using their bare hands to prepare the nacho appetizers. I noticed employees were not wearing hair nets. One employee wiped his hand across his brow and went back to preparing the nachos. The floor was covered in crumbs and was in need of sweeping. After observing this for roughly 15 minutes, our food arrived. My steak was tasty and met my expectations. It was well-seasoned and was a good portion for the price. My girlfriend initially enjoyed her enchiladas until she pulled a long hair from INSIDE her enchilada. Needless to say, she did not finish the plate and we were compensated for her meal as it was written off. The tastes were good but I suspect there is a problem with their sanitation.
