Laura W Review of Chatham Bars Inn

We have been chatting about trying Chatham Bars Inn for a few years and finally booked a weekend. Underwhelming.
Pros: beautiful grounds, good outdoor dining options, good massage, great customer service by the valet team
Cons: service at the restaurants, the room was basic at best, paid $1100 for one night for an ocean view room and instead stared at a parking lot and building next door which they tried to play off as ocean view.
The girl at check in even said you have a great room and it was immediately clear that was a lie. The room had NO view, a shower curtain like The Hampton Inn, poor AC and was at the entrance to the building so we heard the front door slamming all of the time. I never would have booked here knowing all of this. They are trying to be luxury but miss the mark in many areas. And a luxury hotel trying to nickel and dime you on a room is a bad look.
I would recommend Ocean Edge and The Wentworth- same rooms and experience for half the price we paid here. If you want real luxury book The Cliff House in Maine- miles above this place.
