They dont do their best to care for their animals....

They dont do their best to care for their animals. In my experience they are neglectful of basic knowledge and needs the animals require. Hurts my heart to think of dogs (or cats, etc...) in their care not recieving what they need. We adopted a pup from them 2 days ago, he has Kennel cough which is to be expected and not at the fault of the humane society however he has been in the hospital twice due to the fact that he ate a slip leash while in their care, which should NEVER have been left in his kennel with him. He is a VERY anxious puppy who was a stray in Puerto Rico and anyone who knows anything about dogs knows they can eat things when severely anxious. Regardless even if he wasnt at all anxious, the leashes should never be left in the kennel. In most places that's a very basic rule for safety reasons. The animal hospital told us he would have had to have eaten the leash at this animal shelter as we hadnt even had him 24 hours. They also mixed him up with his brother so we had to be sure his vet records were in fact his and the staff we spoke to were incredibly rude and dismissive of the situation. We are contacting them today regarding the vet bills, due to his eating a leash while in their care. I'm hoping they do the right thing and at least pay something towards them. It is in fact a preventable issue that was due to their neglect. Overall will NEVER return to adopt an animal from them. We LOVE Hank so very much and it kills me to think that a 7 month old puppy is in pain and suffering when it was entirely preventable. I hope they do better from now on but I wont be holding my breath.
