Yesterday I had found an ad on craigslist by this dealer for a 2013 Subaru Impreza wrx for 22,995. I texted and spoke to mike from the dealership. Mike had ran my credit and said that I was approved and he could even keep me in my price range. He told me that all I needed to do was come down and do a bank interview and Id be good to go with the car I wanted. SO right after work I made the 45 min drive to finish the process. Come to find out that the vehicle was sold earlier and no one had notified me and mike ran off right as he put me with another salesman. The salesman then offered me two other subarus. The one that I looked at next was a 2015 Subaru WRX with 40,000 miles and was only 21,995. As we went on our test drive we realized the clutch was out and it was burning. So we couldn't even get halfway down the road before we turned around. We then looked at the other Subaru, Which didnt even start and had to be jumped. Another salesman came up to me and told me that they are going to put a brand new clutch in for me and everything would be okay. so I said okay and we started the process. Another salesman came back and said they couldn't do anything without a down payment or another cosigner. I was irritated because I wouldn't have came down or even let them run my credit if this was the outcome. I tried to reason with them and tell them all of the issues I just went through and im not even getting the car I initially came for. The manager of the store came over and said I didn't have the numbers and tried to push a Mirage on me. I explained to him that I dont need a car. I have the means to get around without one. Me and my fiance are expecting and I would like a car to make things easier. SO why would I pay for something I dont even want? So I left and about 15 minutes down the road the manager calls me and tells me he can get me in a 2017 lancer for 17,995. Compared to the car I wanted which was the 2015 Subaru WRX that was priced at 21,995 with 40,000 and STILL needed a new clutch. I did not go back because that was the worst experience. The salesman that stuck with me the entire time was wonderful and apologized every opportunity he got. But the multiple experienced salesman and manager of the store said nothing to me but try and push another vehicle that I didn't come here for down my throat.
