I have always loved this theatre and was so disappointed when the Virus gave us no hope for it returning this year ! However, they put on a Concert version of Jesus Christ Superstar and my friend Sue and I went.
It was a glorious night, perfect temperature in every way.
I had seen the original production of this wonderful piece all those years ago and loved the score from then on. I cannot say enough, there aren't superlatives I can think of to recommend this great piece once more.
The voices, orchestra and the organisation for Distancing and security for the audience members was really good.
The music was just as thrilling as it had been the first time I had been lucky enough to see it and lo' and behold, who was sitting in the audience in the middle of the stalls was the inimitable Andrew Lloyd Weber who clapped enthusiastically as did the whole of the audience. The lead singers were exceptional, my only sadness was that there was no
"Cast List" therefore I cannot mention any names of the superb Bass voice and the lead playing Mary. I will investigate if there is any way for me to find one as I am an avid collector of programs and would love to follow the careers of these great singers.
