The performance theatres are out of this world with world class sound and light systems. The outdoor theatre is also a lovely place. The entire area itself is very inspirational yet tranquil. Has decent shops & and cafes inside and outside. The library is very well equipped one with a great collection of books on music , dance and theatre from all around the world. Esplanade which is about 10 minutes walk from the Merlion statue is also a nice place to come & visit for sightseeing. It's all well connected by bus and train. In fact it is accessible from 2 stations. One is the City Hall MRT ( which is the red line ) and Esplanade MRT station( Circle Line)
