Estimate to move a 1 bdrm condo a distance of 1 mi...

Estimate to move a 1 bdrm condo a distance of 1 mile was understated to what was ultimately charge. Estimate was 4-5 hours for 3 movers and a truck, but we (3 people) had to help the movers just to meet that 5 hour estimate which cost us almost $800.
-Shrink Wrapping was good, but when the movers got there, they said they had to shrink wrap all the furniture, we thought we had an option, but were thus charged for the shrink wrapping service for each piece of furniture. That added to the cost.
-If your building has an elevator, make sure you know if there's a service fee if they have to use the stairs for larger pieces of furniture. In our case, it was a couch down 3 flights of stairs, so we carried it down ourselves.
-Make sure everything is in a box, no bags of any kind are acceptable, even ones with a comforter. Their main office said it's harder to move.

Had we known movers don't carry anything without an extra service fee above the $120 an hour, we would have rented a truck, some dollys, and supplies and done it all on our own
