My husband, 2 young sons and I checked in today, excited for our family's first getaway since before my husband's deployment. Waited in line for at least 20 minutes to check in at 8:30pm. Made a split decision while checking in to add an additional day to our stay. Big mistake. Entered our room to find that it was not cleaned. There were plastic drink cups out with drink in them still, clothing tags, fresh chewing gum on the floor, hair dryer laying on the counter, pile of used hand towels and washcloths on the bathroom counter, used soap bars, garbage in the room and bathroom. Called the front desk to request someone come and clean our room. Lady said someone would be up right away. Waited 20 minutes and no one came. Kids were anxious to get in the pools so I went to the front desk and made a second request. Took my boys to the pool for about an hour and came back. Bathroom had been cleaned. Got them in bed and was looking forward to laying down, myself after a 4 hour drive. Lifted up my pillow to pull the sheet back and there's a DEAD, SQUISHED BUG on the sheet. So on edge here... Wish I had picked a different place.
