In the fall of 2018, I decided it was time to look into a place to spend the "rest of my life." After visiting a few continuing care communities, I felt sure that I had found my home at Asbury Methodist Village in Gaithersburg. From the beginning, I felt a welcoming presence while touring this facility with Marketing staff. The one-bedroom apartment shown to me was one which met all my needs, and all the physical and cultural activities offered were very appealing. My decision was made.

Living at Asbury has been all I anticipated, and then some. I have made many friends (everybody speaks to everybody) and have enjoyed participating in many exercise activities - water aerobics, line dancing, etc. - as well as the Keese School of Continuing Education. The Keese School, which is run by and for residents of Asbury, offers lectures, classes and musical events. And, if you choose not to cook, the dining facilities offer a wide variety of meals.

Covid-19 has affected life here. And on this subject, I am impressed with the attention given to us by staff and associates. This includes a Covid-19 test given to all who wished to participate, weekly telephone calls to residents to inquire about any symptoms being experienced, the delivery of meals to residences, screening of visitors, employees and associates, the availability of temperature gauges in lobbies, and, last but not least, required masks at all locations.

I chose well.
