I am literally writing this within 20 minutes of having been inside this building. A little about me, I work at a call center 6 days a week. I am really good at what I do. I thought I'd earn some extra money by working on my only day off (Saturday) and so I heard about this place and decided to check it out. The overweight woman who works at the ISA office was very rude to me. She was standoffish and gave me this deer in headlights look the entire time.
I first started out telling her that a friend of mine told me about this place (but that went right past her thick head), so then I said "And I'm looking for a job". She then laughed at me and said "Well you have to apply first". Oh really?!!!! I thought I could just start working there that day! (Sarcasm). What a rude woman. Then she took me out into the hallway and wasn't forthcoming at all with any information. I had to do most of the talking. She told me that I would have to come into the office on Monday to apply. I told her that I work until 5:30 on Mondays and asked her if the office would still be open. Instead of responding to my VERBAL question with a VERBAL answer, she rudely pointed at the sign on the door which showed the hours. Who hired this individual? I don't know if she was racist or just has it out for men in general or if my intelligence and good looks was just too intimidating for her. I really don't know. But she was very unprofessional.
So then she tells me that there's an orientation that she oversees and that it is only on Fridays and it is 4 hours long. First of all, I make phone calls for a living! What the hell do I need an orientation for?! And why is it 4 hours?! Ridiculous. And apparently it's one of those orientations where they go around the room and everyone has to tell something about themselves (I hate that!!!!!). And she told me, after I pressed her on it more than once, that the job is a minimum of $13 an hour. Well I make a minimum of $12 an hour right now with my 6 day job. So to only work one day a week and make just a dollar more is pointless. But what's even more pointless is the fact that a woman who is terrible at communication is overseeing an office where people are being paid to communicate. And there weren't even that many people in the room when I went in there. I just hate the rude behavior and the deer-in-headlights looks and the standoffishness. I guess she's never seen an attractive guy before.
My advice: Don't waste your time with this place. Don't work here. It's not worth it. Especially not if this woman is going to be your boss. There are better call centers to work at. There's a bunch of them near Van Nuys Blvd. Look around that area, you'll find work that's a lot easier and pays you basically just as much, and with people who aren't racist. Interviewing Service of America? More like Interviewing Scam of America! Oh and it says that this place is closed on Saturdays. That's a lie! There were people in there making phone calls when I went in (Saturday).
