Great showroom, but customer service didn't explai...

Great showroom, but customer service didn't explain the "system" properly.
On arrival I was asked for my details (email, postal address etc) and all was very professional. I knew that meant they would be following up and looking into who my local retailer was - great. Was told that I should start upstairs and there were samples there for me, and I would be shown around.
Whilst upstairs I wasn't approached by anyone, but worked out how the different ranges were displayed, and could see the samples on display. So far, so good.
However, when I came to leave - with my four samples - I was told at the reception that I couldn't take those samples and that I had to have a "consultation" where I would then be given some full size samples to take away with me. Brilliant, but as I needed to leave to be at another appointment that was a problem. I then had to wait for ten minutes to see someone and get my samples. The full size samples and consultation are a great idea but as that part of the process wasn't explained to me I felt that I missed out on its full benefit as I had to rush off.
I left with some great samples, but also annoyed that if I had just been explained the process at the beginning then I'd have had a much better experience rather than leaving on a negative note....
