Just had a disheartening experience at the Sadie D...

Just had a disheartening experience at the Sadie Diamond Breast Health Imaging Centre at BC Women s Hospital, due to a technician who was rude and unprofessional. I have undergone diagnostics before in a different location and have prior history of cysts in my breasts I wanted to check if further action would be needed on a cyst I had recently found. The referral was sent to the Centre by my doctor.
The technician was already abrupt to begin with but this turned into her asking prodding questions in a berating tone about why my doctor had sent the referral, belittling the reason why I went to get a mammogram in the first place (I was considered young for one).
The technician could be having a bad day, but I should hope that she/they take more care in their communication with patients/patrons. This is an integral part of their jobs as healthcare professionals. Not asking to be coddled, but a little respect would be nice.
Regardless of the outcome of the tests, no one should be made to feel ashamed about seeking professional medical help for a concern they might sincerely be anxious and worried about (and have history of!). Way to make this an awful experience for a woman who's just trying to ensure her body is in order.
