My favorite hotel on the Island. We live on the Big Island, and take several weekend getaways every year. The Mauna Lani is quiet and comfortable. Bicycles are available to ride the short distance to shops and other food, including a grocery store. Staff is unfailingly helpful and kind. Eat a nice meal at the Canoe House, or even head down the beach to Brown's at the Fairmont. Loads of gorgeous beaches to walk around and explore, and a fantastic snorkeling beach the opposite way from the Fairmont. It's the hotel we come back to again and again. Accommodating and friendly to children as well.
