Gordon Burns Review of Six Flags

The weather was nice the day we visited, and that was the best part of the day. Overwhelming crowds, high prices, extremely long wait times for attractions. It literally took an hour+ to get from the exit off I-30 to the parking lot. That should have been our first hint to abandon the visit. The parking fees were highway robbery. And those fees only bought us a parking space that was more than a mile from the front gate. Once in the park we spent more time waiting in lines and fighting the crowds than doing any other activities. The concessions were outrageously expensive. There was no value to be found anywhere during the experience. I'm not sure I will ever return with my family to this place. My great childhood memories of this place will always be just that - distant memories. I have little hope that this park will be anything more than an expensive tourist trap going forward. It even took us half an hour to get out of the parking lot on the way out. It seems like we paid them a small fortune just to be irritated and have our patience tested.
