Memorial complex) (from the moment of its opening to July 2015 - the National Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 (Ukrainian National Museum of the Great Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 rock) in Kiev is a memorial complex located on the slopes of the right bank of the Dnieper on the outskirts of Pechersk, one of the historical districts of the city.The authors of the pre-project are E. Vuchetich, E. Stamo, the authors of the embodiment of the complex V. Elizarov (director), V. Boroday, I. Ivanov, G. Kisly, I. Mezentsev, F. Sogoyan , E. Stamo, P. Feshchenko, V. Shvetso . The Kiev Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 moved twice until it was solemnly opened on its current place on May 9 (Victory Day) 1981 by the Secretary General Leonid Ilyich Brezhnev, head of the Soviet state. On June 21, 1996, the museum was given its current status as the National Museum of Ukraine by decree of President L. D. Kuchma.

One of the largest museums in Ukraine (more than 400 thousand exhibits), the museum is most associated with the 102-meter monument to the Motherland, which has become one of the most recognizable views of Kiev. Over the years the museum has existed, more than 21 million visitors have visited it.
