Our family's experience with Regional Hospice was a nightmare. The nurses and social worker who came to our home were arrogant mixed with rude, dismissive and demeaning. Hard to believe this was Hospice care or that suffering care givers could be treated as we were. It was one of the worse experiences I have had in my life to be treated so disrespectfully and I often had to leave the room while our nurse was chastising us due to her personality problem. This is the truth and any prospective customers should be aware of our experience and how demoralizing it was to family members. Of course other people have had wonderful care here but it is not the case for everyone.

I will not recommend the Regional Hospice Center in Danbury to anyone because the priority was clearly MONEY first, games were played, calls not returned and the quality of life requests we made were simple but never done for our loved one. We deeply regret any association with this Hospice and it is unlike any of the descriptions friends in other states gave us regarding their experiences with Hospice care. No one with more than a day or two to live should be here. They will milk you dry at $550 per day for basic custodial care and nothing else. It is not an accredited Hospice which is important to know. A very big MISTAKE to ever call them and one that we regret all this time later. We deserved better and so did the patient. We trusted Hospice to make good decisions in terms of quality of life care and were ignored.
