Hotels can tell you a lot about the history of the place, and some of them hold inside some magical stories. The King David hotel in Jerusalem tells one of the most interesting and important stories in the city. It was built by Jewish Egyptian families, opened to the public in 1931, and hosted some of the most important guests of the time. It endured wars, struggles and bombings, and all this time remained the most beautiful and luxurious hotel in Palestine, later Israel. Even today it s still the official hotel of the state that hosts all the dignities coming to visit from around the world. It s open to the public and you are welcome to be a guest at the fancy restaurant, bar or just use the toilets. Taking a room might be a little expansive, but magical nevertheless.
