December 8th I bought my 2nd and 3rd vehicle from Mac Churchill Acura. Although from Houston I came back to purchase my vehicles from them because I was pleased with my first experience. The second time around I have been very disappointed in in the level of service and backing up of the vehicles that they sell. I purchased at 08 GMC Sierra and a 06 Lexus GS300. Both vehicles had safety issues that should have been taken care of prior to being placed on the lot for sale.
First I will begin with the GMC. As I am driving my truck back to Houston on I45 at about 75mph it starts raining cats and dogs. Low and behold in my first attempt to utilize my windshield wiper the entire driver side wiper flies off my vehicle and almost hits another vehicle. I am then forced to drive the rest of my time back to Houston from Dallas with decrease visibility while its pouring down rain!!!!!(I would have purchased another one but GM uses these new fittings that require special adapters that gas stations on the side of the highway do not have). After numerous of calls to my salesman and the used car sales manager they agreed to refund me the cost of the wiper, which I am thankful for. But my question is why did that happen in the first place and what type of prep are the cars being taken through which leads me to my next issue the GS 300.
The night of purchasing the GS300 I noticed that the headlight would come on for about 5 minutes then shut off. I immediately called the dealership and left messages for both the sales manager and sales man. Because of this problem I had to leave the car in Dallas with family to get the car potentially fixed. I finally got in contact with the sales manager on Monday about the vehicle. The car was brought in on Tuesday by my father and after waiting approx 5 hrs he was told it was a bad bulb and the problem was fixed (in fairness the gas cap was replaced as well due to another issue with the car) . On Friday I fly back up to Dallas to drive the car home and the headlight still does not work. The sales person and manager were contacted and I was asked to bring the car to the dealership again which was impossible due to my other obligations and drive back to Houston. After a quick investigation on the internet I found that the it is most likely the headlight ECU which costs approx 1300 for the part from Lexus(the entire headlight needs to be replaced). I am very disappointed in the dealerships handling of this situation. They claim the light was replaced but if so why was it not checked to see if the same problem was happening again before the vehicle left, in particularly when they know the customer is traveling from out of town.

In summation I totally understand that these are used cars as I have bought many but I do expect the lights to work and the windshield wipers not to fly off of the vehicle. These are basic safety items that should operate properly on the vehicle before the sale of a vehicle unless explicitly stated to the customer. These critical systems should have been inspected as part of the state inspection certification that I presume was initiated by Mac Churchill Acura.

I am writing this to warn other customers of the preparedness of the vehicles purchasing from the facility and the overall care of the sales team for the customer once they have sold you a vehicle. I had a very good experience the first time I bought a vehicle there they seemed to care if the customer was taken care of properly. This time I don't feel the same way.
